Toronto Police Identify Christopher Gordon, 34, as the Man Found Dead in a Blossomfield Drive Apartment and Say Cody Rudifo, 32, of Timmins Is Wanted on a Canada-Wide Warrant for First-Degree Murder (October 5, 2026)
The man found dead in a Toronto Community Housing building on Blossomfield Drive in Lawrence Heights on Sunday, October 4, has been identified as Christopher Gordon, 34, of Toronto, and Cody Rudifo, 32, of Timmins is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder, CP24 reports. CP24 reports that police responded just before 8:20 a.m. and that Detective Sergeant Sanjeev Nair of the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit told reporters the man was found in a fourth-floor unit with “traumatic injuries” and that investigators do not believe he lived there. CP24 reports that police say Rudifo is considered to be armed and dangerous and that anyone who locates him is advised not to approach him but to call 911. CP24 reports that a photo of Gordon has not been released. This is a follow-up to this site’s earlier briefing, which carried the October 4 accounts when police were still asking the public to help identify the victim and locate the suspect. No arrest has been reported.
The Victim’s Name and the Warrant, One Day On
The earlier briefing, drawn from CP24 and Global News on October 4, reported Detective Sergeant Nair as saying the man appeared to be in his early 30s and that police were asking the public to help identify him and locate the suspect. On October 5 the Toronto Police Service published an entry headed “Homicide Investigation, Flemington Road and Blossomfield Drive area, Victim: Christopher Gordon, 34,” carrying an image of Rudifo captioned “WANTED: Cody Rudifo, 32, of Timmins.” CP24 reports that Gordon’s death is the city’s 30th homicide of the year.
CP24 reports that a suspect has now been identified as Rudifo, who is from Timmins, and that he is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder. CP24 reports that police say he is considered to be armed and dangerous. It gives 416-808-7400, and Crime Stoppers for anonymous tips, as the contacts for anyone with information. CP24 does not report where Rudifo is believed to be.
What Detective Sergeant Nair Said
CP24 credits Detective Sergeant Sanjeev Nair, of the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit, with telling reporters at the scene that the man was found with “traumatic injuries” and that investigators do not believe the victim resided in the unit. CP24 reports that Nair said several people fled from the building, including the suspect, in a northbound direction before police arrived, and that life-saving measures were performed but the victim was pronounced dead on scene, police said. CP24 adds that police described a “disturbance” heard inside the building in a news release; it does not say which release. CP24 carries no other quotation from Nair. No cause of death is reported beyond the description of the injuries, and no weapon is described.
