Toronto police say a man was found dead with traumatic injuries inside a unit on the fourth floor of a Toronto Community Housing apartment building on Blossomfield Drive, near Lawrence Avenue West and William R. Allen Road in the Lawrence Heights neighbourhood of North York, after a call at about 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2026, CP24 reported. Detective Sergeant Sanjeev Nair of the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit said the man was not believed to be a resident of the apartment and appears to be in his early 30s, according to CP24. CP24 reported that multiple people, including the suspect, fled the unit before police arrived, heading northbound, and that no suspect description is available while investigators review video footage. Police are asking the public to help identify the victim and locate the suspect. No arrest and no charge had been reported when this briefing was written. The two outlet accounts were published on October 4, the day before this briefing.

The Call to Blossomfield Drive

CP24 reported that the incident occurred on the fourth floor of a Toronto Community Housing apartment building on Blossomfield Drive, near Lawrence Avenue West and William R. Allen Road, around 8:20 a.m., and that police described a “disturbance” at a North York residence. Global News reported that officers were called to the area of Lawrence Avenue West and William R. Allen Road around 8:20 a.m. Sunday, “police said in a post on social media,” after a call for a disturbance. Global News quoted Toronto Police Operations as saying that “an adult male was located with injuries” and that “the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.”

CP24 reported that Detective Sergeant Nair said officers discovered a male victim with traumatic injuries inside a unit, and quoted him: “the male was pronounced deceased on scene.” Global News reported that the homicide unit is now investigating.

The Suspect and the Appeal for Help

CP24 reported that multiple people fled the unit before police arrived, including the suspect, heading northbound, and that no suspect description is currently available, though investigators are reviewing video footage. CP24 quoted Nair: “it’s only going to be a matter of time before we have a good image of the suspect.” Global News reported, citing police, that the suspect fled before officers arrived and that no suspect description was available.

CP24 reported that police are asking for public assistance to identify the victim and to locate the suspect, and that anyone who saw the suspect fleeing around 8:19 a.m., or who has information, should contact the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit at 32 Division. CP24 also reported that Councillor Mike Colle expressed distress over the incident and noted that the community has been working to reduce violence in Lawrence Heights.

What the Reporting Says About the Victim

CP24 reported that Nair indicated the victim appears to be in his early 30s and was not believed to be a resident of the apartment, and that an autopsy is scheduled for Monday. Global News described him only as an adult male and gave no age. Neither account names him; CP24 reports that police are asking for help identifying him.

No one has been arrested or charged in this death as reported, and nobody named here is accused of anything. The account is attributed to the two outlets named; where they differ in detail, both are reported. No gang, club, family, syndicate or cartel label has been used, because no source has used one: neither outlet reports any organized-crime, gang or club connection, and this briefing does not suggest one. The incident is inside the Greater Toronto Area, the primary footprint, where homicides are on the beat regardless of any stated organized-crime nexus, so no further beat qualifier applies.
