Police made multiple arrests in a coordinated operation targeting a cocaine trafficking network that sourced drugs in the Toronto area and sold them in Quebec.
Details of the Operation: Searches were conducted in Montreal, the Laurentians, and the Montérégie regions, targeting a network that allegedly sourced cocaine from the Toronto area to resell in Quebec. The operation, led by the anti-gang unit of the Montreal police organized crime department, involved nearly 50 officers from the Montreal police, the Sûreté du Québec, and Saint-Jérôme police.
- Arrests and Suspects: Eight people—four men and four women between the ages of 24 and 54—were arrested on pre-authorized warrants. Their names are Karim Chabbi, Catherine Trudel-Primeau, Jean-François Roberge, Manon Primeau, Mathieu Bouchard, Jennifer Devries, Michele Francesco Manicone, and Julie Saint-Jacques-Lapointe. All eight were expected to be charged at the Montreal courthouse. Police are still searching for two suspects, Carlo Polcaro and Ilies Taibi, both 35 years old.
- Seizures: During searches conducted in April and May, police seized a total of 46.5 kilograms of cocaine, a firearm, and more than $80,000 in cash.
