Projet Daurade Takedown: Laval Police Dismantle Multi-Million Dollar Organized Drug & Money Laundering Network
LAVAL & MONTRÉAL — Following an intensive 18-month multi-jurisdictional wiretap and surveillance investigation, the Service de police de Laval (SPL) has officially unsealed the results of Projet Daurade, a major strike against an organized crime syndicate operating across Greater Montreal and Lanaudière.
The criminal enterprise utilized a local restaurant establishment as a central convergence hub and money laundering front to process narcotics proceeds. Across four tactical execution phases, SPL tactical units, along with provincial enforcement partners, seized millions in real estate, bulk Canadian currency, commercial narcotics, and illegal handguns.
Commercial Front & Multi-Phase Strike
Inception of the probe dates back to September 2025, when SPL intelligence handlers identified suspicious narcotics distribution patterns centered around a dining venue. Surveillance confirmed the location served as an operational meeting point for high-level targets managing drug pipelines and cash washing operations.
Between December 2025 and July 2026, tactical assault teams executed coordinated search warrants across residential properties, commercial sites, and stash vehicles in Laval, Montreal, and the Laurentians. The operation crippled the syndicate’s infrastructure and seized three commercial and residential real estate assets valued at over $2.8 million under proceeds of crime provisions.
