TORONTO — Toronto Police Service 14 Division Major Crime detectives have formally unsealed multi-count indictments against Kingslee Ivan Christie (29) of Whitby and Tajae-J’nye Samuel-Maragh (23) of Toronto following a violent gunpoint heist, vehicle crash, secondary carjacking attempt, and police confrontation.

The sequence unfolded at 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, when two masked gunmen robbed victims at gunpoint near Bathurst Street and Richmond Street West. Responding 14 Division patrol officers located the suspects in a stolen vehicle, triggering a tactical pursuit and foot chase.

Gunpoint Standoff & Tactical Seizures

The stolen getaway vehicle fled from officers before slamming into a traffic collision. Both suspects abandoned the wrecked vehicle and fled on foot through downtown alleyways. During the foot pursuit, one suspect attempted an unsuccessful carjacking of a second occupied vehicle.

As officers closed in to effect an arrest, one suspect drew a loaded handgun and pointed it directly at pursuing officers. Patrol units tackled and disarmed the gunman without officer-discharged gunfire. Search incident to arrest yielded two loaded handguns.

Indictment & Suspect Dossier

  • Accused 2: Tajae-J’nye Samuel-Maragh, 23, of Toronto, Ontario.
  • Primary Charges: Robbery with a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Disguise with Intent, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Unauthorized Possession in a Motor Vehicle.
  • Judicial Status: Remanded in custody following bail appearances at the Toronto Bail Program (2201 Finch Avenue West).
