Saint-Laurent Boulevard Firebombing Strike: SPVM Arson Squad Takes Control of Commercial Target File
MONTRÉAL — Major crime detectives from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) Section des incendies criminels have taken over an investigation following a pre-dawn incendiary attack targeting a commercial establishment on Saint-Laurent Boulevard.
The strike occurred along the Saint-Laurent Boulevard corridor near Port-Royal Avenue in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough. SPVM officers and Montreal Fire Department (SIM) crews arrived to find physical evidence confirming incendiary accelerants were used to breach and ignite the premises.
Commercial Extortion Vector Under Investigation
Emergency 911 dispatchers received calls around 4:00 a.m. reporting smoke and flames issuing from the storefront. SIM firefighters rapidly extinguished the blaze, preventing structural collapse and limiting damage primarily to the entrance and front commercial zone.
SPVM major crime detectives confirm that physical evidence of liquid accelerants was located near the point of entry. No injuries were reported as the building was unoccupied. Investigators are analyzing nearby commercial camera arrays to identify suspect getaway vehicles.
