The violence erupted across the Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (CDN-NDG) and Pierrefonds-Roxboro boroughs. Investigators are analyzing whether the separate drive-by incidents stem from local street gang territorial disputes or commercial extortion campaigns sweeping through Montreal’s west end.

Pierrefonds & Côte-des-Neiges Crime Scenes Locked Down

The initial call reached 911 dispatch at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, when residents along Basswood Street near Alexander Street in Pierrefonds-Roxboro reported multiple gunshots echoing outside. Responding SPVM officers located bullet impacts penetrating the rear entrance of a residential building. The hit squad fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Just over an hour later, at 2:50 a.m., dispatch channels received secondary reports of gunfire on Méridian Avenue near Ponsard Avenue in the CDN-NDG borough.
