In one of the most significant strikes against the Blood Family Mafia (BFM) this year, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has dismantled a major operational cell in the Chaudière-Appalaches region. Over 50 officers, including tactical units and K9 teams, executed six high-risk warrants across Montmagny—notably targeting a residential complex on Saint-Jacques Street. The raid marks a strategic escalation in the province’s “taxation war” between the BFM and the Hells Angels.

Ten individuals were apprehended in the sweep. While one 43-year-old woman was released with a promise to appear at a later date, the remaining nine suspects appeared before the Montmagny courthouse on Friday, where the Crown successfully opposed their release. The charges filed represent a disturbing intersection of organized crime, drug trafficking, and predatory violence.

The “Montmagny” Connection

Intelligence sources confirm that the targeted cell was operating under the direct influence of Tommy “Montmagny” Bernier-Thibault. The 27-year-old fugitive is currently one of Canada’s “Top 25 Most Wanted” and is described by police as a “loose cannon” who took over BFM’s ground operations following the incarceration of leader Dave “Pic” Turmel.

Bernier-Thibault is suspected of coordinating the BFM’s ongoing refusal to pay “dues” to the Hells Angels, a defiance that has sparked a year of kidnappings and torture across eastern Quebec. While he remains at large, the SQ signaled that this operation was a “clear message” that the group’s strongholds are no longer safe.
