Nearly fourteen years after the brazen murder of high-level gangster Sandip Duhre inside the Sheraton Wall Centre in downtown Vancouver, Wolfpack hitman Dean Wiwchar has formally admitted his role in the killing.

Wiwchar, previously charged with first-degree murder, pleaded guilty in B.C. Supreme Court to two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

Conspiracy Behind the Duhre Assassination

The charges stem from the January 17, 2012 shooting of Duhre inside the busy hotel restaurant. Prosecutor Mark Sheardown stated Wiwchar acted as the contracted hitman who carried out the assassination.

Plot Against Rival Sukh Dhak

The second charge relates to a conspiracy to kill rival gangster Sukh Dhak, who was ultimately murdered in November 2012. Wiwchar admitted to performing surveillance and prep work.

Court Proceedings

Justice Kathleen Ker confirmed Wiwchar understood the consequences of his plea and was acting voluntarily. Sentencing is scheduled for November 14.

• Larry Amero (Hells Angels) — 18-year sentence for conspiracy to commit murder.
• Rabih “Robby” Alkhalil — convicted in absentia; recaptured in Qatar and expected to return to Canada to serve a life sentence.

Wiwchar and Alkhalil were also convicted for the 2012 murder of John Raposo in Toronto.
