The Sûreté du Québec says investigators from its Service des enquêtes sur la contrebande carried out searches on October 28 in Saint-Théodore-d’Acton, Drummondville and Trois-Rivières, and that about 1,950 kilograms of dried cannabis buds, more than 600 cannabis plants, nearly six kilograms of hashish and about 480 methamphetamine tablets were seized. The force says the investigation began in the summer of 2026 and targets a criminal organization of producers that allegedly operated behind several Health Canada medical cannabis production certificates. Three men — one aged 31 and two aged 46 — were arrested and later released, and the force says they could face future charges in connection with cannabis smuggling. The three men have not been named.

What the Force Says Was Searched

According to the force, the searches covered five residences and agricultural fields, and three vehicles. About 60 police officers took part, including police of the MRC d’Acton and the MRC de Drummond and the Escouade régionale mixte, with the Service de police de Trois-Rivières and Contrôle routier Québec also credited. The force says four vehicles were seized as offence-related property.

The Sûreté du Québec says the operation falls under the ACCES Cannabis program, which is coordinated by the ministère de la Sécurité publique and aimed at cannabis smuggling.
