Manitoba RCMP Say Seven People Were Arrested in Grandview and Six Face Drug and Weapons Charges After Officers Looking for a Wanted Man Saw a Firearm in Open View and Later Searched a Railway Avenue North Home, Seizing More Than 70 Grams of Cocaine, a Firearm, Swords and Knives and Nearly $2,750 (October 28, 2026)
Manitoba RCMP say officers went to a residence in the 400-block of Railway Avenue North in Grandview at about 5 p.m. on October 21 to locate a man wanted on multiple warrants. They did not find him, the force says, but they saw a firearm in open view that nobody inside could lawfully possess, and obtained a search warrant hours later. The RCMP says more than 70 grams of cocaine, pills, a firearm, ammunition, magazines, various swords and knives, drug paraphernalia, unstamped tobacco and nearly $2,750 in cash were seized. The RCMP’s headline says seven people were arrested, and the release names six who face charges; all were released on notices to appear in a Dauphin courtroom at a later date, which the release does not specify.
Legal status: Six of the seven people named face charges; one was processed on warrants of arrest. The allegations have not been tested in court and the accused are presumed innocent.
The Search on Railway Avenue North
The RCMP says the officers were at the home to locate a male wanted on multiple warrants. The force says he was not there. What officers did see, the release says, was a firearm in open view that no one inside the residence could lawfully possess. A search warrant was obtained hours later.
The release says another person wanted on a warrant was arrested as they left the residence, and that a 39-year-old man wanted on an unrelated warrant, who arrived in the driveway with the homeowner, was arrested without incident. It does not say whether either of those people is among the seven named below.
Who Is Charged
Six of the seven are charged with the same five counts, as the RCMP words them: drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime, unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Three of those six face two further counts each. The seventh person named, Anthony Ferland, 39, of Grandview, was processed on his warrants of arrest; the release lists no additional charges against him.
