A 27-year-old man is charged with three counts, by a tally of the charges the Winnipeg Police Service lists, after officers stopped a vehicle on Rougeau Avenue and searched a residence in the 300 block of the same street. The force says its East District Community Support Unit began investigating suspected drug activity in the Mission Gardens neighbourhood in September 2026, and that just after 11:30 a.m. on October 26 unit members stopped a suspect vehicle travelling westbound on Rougeau Avenue; the vehicle’s two occupants were arrested. The release does not name either person arrested.

The Vehicle Stop and the Search Warrant

The Winnipeg Police Service says the file began in September 2026, when its East District Community Support Unit opened an investigation into suspected drug activity in the Mission Gardens neighbourhood. The force dates the stop to October 26, 2026, saying that just after 11:30 a.m. members of the unit stopped a suspect vehicle westbound on Rougeau Avenue; the vehicle’s two occupants were arrested.

Police say a warrant was executed at a residence in the 300 block of Rougeau Avenue. The release says the Tactical Support Team, the Guns, Gangs, and Drug Enforcement Unit and the Organized Crime Unit assisted with that search. It does not give a date for the warrant.

What Police Say Was Seized

From the vehicle and its occupants, the force says officers seized 2.16 ounces of cocaine, which it puts at an estimated street value of $4,300. From the residence, police say they seized 4.8 ounces of cocaine, at an estimated street value of $9,600, along with about $81,600 in Canadian currency, an electronic money counter, a large scale, and packaging and other drug paraphernalia. Both dollar figures attached to the drugs are the force’s own estimates.
