A Gun Goes Off at a Private Event on Queenston Road and Nobody Reports Being Hit: Hamilton Police Put Out Images of Three People They Say Hold Critical Information (August 23, 2026)
A fight at a private event in Hamilton’s east end ended with a gun going off at ten past three on a Sunday morning, with several people standing in the area, and by the force’s own account none of them is known to have been hurt. Hamilton Police spent the rest of the day trying to work out who was there.
The Hamilton Police Service says officers responded at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, to a shooting in the area of Queenston Road and Parkdale Avenue South.
What investigators established, according to the release, is that a private event was under way in the area. During it, a physical altercation broke out between two parties. That altercation, police say, resulted in a firearm being discharged.
The sentence that follows in the release is the one worth sitting with: “Although there were several people in the area, there is no information to suggest anyone was injured.” Police do not say the crowd was small. They say it was several people, and that none of them is known to have been hit. Police have not said where the firearm was pointed.
Three Faces and a Phone Number
By 4:32 p.m. the same afternoon, investigators from the Shooting Response Team had published three images. Police say the people captured in them “have critical information that will assist with the investigation.”
The wording is deliberate and it is not the wording used for suspects. Hamilton has not called these three people suspects, has not said they are wanted, and has not said what they are believed to have seen or done. The request is framed twice over — police ask anyone who can identify them to call, and ask anyone who knows them to have them call in themselves.

On Saturday morning the force published a release on shots fired at a Greendale Drive residence on Friday night, and a second on a deliberately set overnight fire at a home near Princess Street and Birch Avenue.
The Service has drawn no line between any of them. Neither does this file. What is missing. The nature and venue of the private event. How many people “several” means. What the altercation was about. Whether the firearm was fired at a person, into the air or into a structure. The number of rounds. Whether casings or strikes were recovered. Whether the shooter was a guest or an outsider. Whether the three people in the image are witnesses, participants or bystanders. No case number was published with this release.
What is not claimed. That anyone was struck. That the gun was aimed at anybody. That the discharge was targeted. That any of the three people sought is a suspect. That this file is connected to the Greendale Drive shooting, the Princess Street arson, or any other Hamilton investigation. And no criminal organization has been named by police in connection with this incident — not a street group, not a family, not a club.
