Sherbrooke police are looking for a man who, according to Noovo Info and Zone911, is alleged to have pushed two people, taken a gold chain and fled after going to a seller’s home around noon on October 26, 2026, to buy it through a Facebook Marketplace listing. Both outlets attribute the details to the Service de police de Sherbrooke (SPS) and give the chain’s value as $8,400. Police are looking for a white 2014 BMW 328i with a British Columbia licence plate, and Noovo Info says they released a photo of it. No arrest or charge has been reported.

What Police Say

According to Noovo Info and Zone911, the incident followed a Facebook Marketplace listing for a gold chain. Both place it on October 26, around noon, at the seller’s home; Zone911 places it in the Bromptonville sector of Sherbrooke. Both word the allegations in the conditional: the suspect “aurait bousculé” (is alleged to have pushed) two people, then took the chain and fled. Noovo Info attributes this to police (“selon la police”).

The two outlets word the offence differently. Noovo Info’s headline says the man “vole” (steals) the chain. Zone911’s subheadline reads “Vol qualifié à Sherbrooke”, and its first paragraph refers to “un vol qualifié” (a robbery) on October 26.

The victims’ ages and genders have not been reported, and no injuries have been described.

The Suspect and the Vehicle

As the outlets report police describing him, the suspect is a man in his thirties who speaks French and is about six feet (1.83 metres) tall; Zone911 adds a slim build. The vehicle police are looking for is a white 2014 BMW 328i with a British Columbia licence plate. The plate number has not been published.

Police also reminded the public, according to Noovo Info and Zone911, of a free, camera-monitored neutral meeting zone available around the clock for Marketplace transactions in front of the SPS headquarters on rue Maurice-Houle.
