Two Handguns Were Seized in Searches of Two Addresses on the Same Street and the Only Person Charged With Trafficking Is Nineteen Years Old: Orillia OPP Lay Firearm Counts Against All Three, Including a Sixty-Year-Old Woman, and Name None of Them (October 1, 2026)

First reported Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 11:22 a.m. Eastern by Julius Hern of Barrie 360. Ontario Provincial Police officers executed search warrants at two West Street addresses in Orillia just after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in a drug trafficking investigation the force says began over the summer. Officers seized suspected cocaine, suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone tablets, more than $20,000 in Canadian currency and two handguns. Three Orillia residents were arrested and all three were held for bail hearings in Orillia on Thursday. Not one of them has been named.

Who Is Charged, and With What

The charge sheets are not itemised anywhere in the public record. What the report establishes is the shape of them, and the shape is unusual: the firearm counts are spread evenly across all three accused while the trafficking counts sit on one person alone.

A 19-year-old man faces five counts the report describes as relating to firearm possession, plus three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking — one each in respect of fentanyl, hydromorphone and cocaine. A 36-year-old man faces the same five firearm-related counts plus two counts of possession of proceeds of crime. A 60-year-old woman faces the same five firearm-related counts plus the same two proceeds counts. By the report’s own arithmetic that is twenty-two counts between the three of them, of which fifteen are firearm counts arising from two published handguns.

The individual counts are not reproduced in the account available, so no section number, no restricted-or-prohibited designation and no loaded status appears against any of the fifteen firearm counts. The wording used above is the outlet’s description of the charges rather than the force’s own enumeration of them, and that distinction is recorded here rather than smoothed over.

What the record does not contain

  • No name for any of the three accused, and no municipality beyond Orillia.
  • No civic address numbers for either of the two West Street properties, and no statement of what connects them.
  • No make, type, calibre, restricted-or-prohibited class or loaded status for either handgun, and no serial numbers.
  • No weight, count or street value for the cocaine, the fentanyl or the hydromorphone tablets, and no tablet count.
  • No itemised charge list for any accused, and no section numbers for the fifteen firearm counts.
  • No statement of whether any accused was bound by a firearms prohibition order or any other court order.
  • No occurrence or file number, no project or operation name, no named officer and no quotation attributed to police.
  • No outcome of any of the three bail hearings, and no next court date.

A Nineteen-Year-Old and a Sixty-Year-Old on the Same File

The forty-one years between the youngest and oldest accused is the most striking thing on the file, and nothing published explains it. The report offers no account of how the three are connected to one another, no account of which accused was at which address, and no statement of whether all three were arrested at the properties or elsewhere. It also does not say how the more than $20,000 in cash is attributed among the three, and none of that is inferred here.

Nor does the record say which of the two West Street addresses produced the handguns, the drugs or the cash. Two addresses on one street were searched within the same operation and the seizure inventory is published as a single undifferentiated list.

Why This Sits on the Beat

Orillia is outside the primary footprint of this beat, so the file does not qualify on geography. It qualifies on concrete features of the offence: two handguns seized, suspected fentanyl among the drugs, three accused taken down in warrants at two addresses by an OPP Community Street Crime Unit with another detachment’s street crime unit assisting, and fifteen firearm counts across the three of them. There is no gang label on it, and none is supplied here.

No criminal organization, street gang or outlaw motorcycle club has been named by the Ontario Provincial Police or by anyone else in connection with this file, and none is named here. None of the counts has been tested in court and all three accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

No Ontario Provincial Police news release on this file could be located. The force’s corporate news page is not an operational wire and carried nothing on the warrants, and the Orillia outlet that would ordinarily carry the detachment’s release refused automated access, returning a 403 error. The Barrie 360 account is therefore the whole of the readable public record, and every gap listed above is a gap in that record rather than a gap in this briefing’s reading of it.
