Three Doors, One Arrest, and a Quantity the Force Says It Has Not Finished Counting: Thompson RCMP Charge Alexis Halvorsen, 37, Six Days After the Warrants and Publish No Weight at All (Originally Reported September 23, 2026)
Three residences in Thompson were searched on the same day. One person came out of them in handcuffs. The Manitoba RCMP waited six days to say so, and when it did, it declined to attach a number to the cocaine — not because the number is being withheld, the force says, but because it has not been arrived at yet. Alexis Halvorsen, 37, is charged with trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
The count that does not exist yet
Most drug releases give a weight, a street value, or both, and the interesting question is usually which one the force chose. This release gives neither, and it explains why: the items seized are still being processed and the exact quantity has not yet been determined. What the reader gets in place of a figure is the adjective substantial.
That is an unusual thing to publish six days after a warrant. It means the RCMP judged the file worth announcing before its own exhibit work was finished — and it leaves the public record with a trafficking charge, a possession-for-the-purpose charge, and nothing quantified behind either of them except the $9,000 in cash.
Two addresses that go unaccounted for
The release says warrants were executed at three residences. It then names exactly one of them — a residence on Sandpiper Drive, where Halvorsen was arrested. The other two are not located, not described, and not connected to any part of the seizure. The reader is not told whether anything at all was found at them, whether anyone was home, or why three doors produced one arrest.
That silence matters on a file whose whole shape is multi-premises. Three coordinated warrants is the footprint of an investigation into more than one person. The charges disclosed are against one.
