Seventeen Kilograms of Cocaine and Methamphetamine Weighed to the Hundredth of a Gram, $326,490 in Canadian Cash, and Eighteen Minutes Later Police Had to Correct Which Three People They Had: Saskatoon’s Guns and Gangs Unit Closes a Schmeiser Bend File and Names Nobody (September 17, 2026)

SASKATOON — The seizure inventory the Saskatoon Police Service published on Thursday, September 17, 2026 is precise to the hundredth of a gram. 7,789.99 grams of soft cocaine. 9,400.22 grams of methamphetamine. Two restricted 9mm Glock handguns, a prohibited Century Arms semi-automatic rifle, five over-capacity magazines, assorted ammunition, 760 Dilaudid 8 pills, a 2025 Hyundai Tucson, $326,490 in Canadian currency and $1,460 US. Three people face a combined 40 charges. And in a document that counts drugs to two decimal places, the service could not get the number of people it had arrested right the first time: at 12:39 p.m., eighteen minutes after the release went out, it issued a correction.

Not one of the three accused is named. The release gives ages — two men, 23 and 30, and a 30-year-old woman — and stops there.

The Correction Changed Who Was in Custody

The first release said two 30-year-old men were arrested from the residence without incident, that a 23-year-old man tried to run and was caught by a police service dog, and that warrants had been requested for the arrest of a 30-year-old woman. That is four people: three men in custody and a woman outstanding.

The correction, release 2026-0570, says that only one 30-year-old man was arrested from the residence — not two — and that the three accused are two men, aged 23 and 30, and one 30-year-old woman. The woman moves from the outstanding-warrant line into the accused column. The second 30-year-old man disappears from the file altogether, and the service does not say whether he ever existed, whether he was released without charge, or whether the original line was simply a drafting error.

What the correction does not do is revise the charge total. Forty counts was the figure at 12:21 p.m. and forty counts is the figure at 12:39 p.m., across a set of accused that changed composition in between.

Five Informations for Three Accused

The release publishes five Court Information Numbers — 991351207, 991351210, 991351212, 991351213 and 991351215 — against three named-by-age accused. The gaps in the sequence are as notable as the count: 208, 209, 211 and 214 are absent. The service offers no explanation of how the forty charges are distributed across the five informations, which accused appears on which, or what the missing sequence numbers represent. This briefing draws no conclusion from them and simply records that the numbers are not contiguous.

Six Days, and a National Unit on a Municipal File

The warrant went in shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11. The announcement came at 12:21 p.m. on Thursday, September 17 — six days later, with no public notice in between.

The unit list is the other thing worth reading. The Guns and Gangs Unit led, with the Drug Unit and the Tactical Support Unit assisting — all Saskatoon Police Service. The fourth name on the list is not: the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team is an RCMP-administered, CISC-linked body whose function is tracing firearms and supporting weapons-trafficking investigations across jurisdictions. Its presence on a municipal search warrant does not by itself establish that the guns came from outside Saskatchewan, and the service makes no trafficking-origin claim. It does indicate that somebody wanted the three firearms traced.

The service names no gang, no street group, no criminal organization and no outlaw motorcycle club anywhere in either release. A unit called Guns and Gangs holding the file is a fact about which desk it landed on. None is named or inferred here.

What Is Not Reported

No names for any of the three accused. No home cities. No itemisation of the 40 charges, and no breakdown of which accused faces which counts or which of the five informations. No statement of whether the 30-year-old woman has been arrested or is still outstanding. No account of what became of the second 30-year-old man from the original release. These allegations have not been tested in court, and all three accused are presumed innocent.
