The Organized Crime Signature
Professional Hit Indicators
While authorities have not officially released the identities of the victims or formally linked the shooting to a specific syndicate, the logistics of the hit bear the distinct hallmarks of a professional organized crime execution.
Immediately following the gunfire, three male suspects were seen fleeing the area in a blue SUV. A short time later, police received a call regarding a vehicle fire approximately 12 kilometers away in a rural area near Huntington Road and Kirby Road. Investigators confirmed that the torched vehicle matches the description of the suspects’ getaway SUV.
The practice of using a stolen vehicle for a hit and immediately burning it to destroy forensic and DNA evidence is a standard operating procedure routinely utilized by local street gangs and traditional organized crime networks within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
